On November 8, 350 India’s volunteers led a peaceful banner action outside the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi as start to the wave of other actions across India.

“In a light-hearted, sarcastic gesture, we awarded some of our political leaders with the “Fossil Fool” awards to symbolize their resistance to move India beyond coal,” they said.

Small groups in London and Paris also rallied in support.

As they said: “The day of action was a small step in the long fight to make India go renewable. There’s still much work left to be done and we need you with us.”
